The next thing I knew, I was in a Walgreens and this very friendly employee is telling me all  about this Loreal brand called Voluminous in the gold tube.

I looked at it and thought, “Eh. That gaudy looking tube can’t really be that great, right?” I had never really tried Loreal products- no reason, just haven’t- so I was skeptical. She told me it was one of the best brands she had tried in a while because it lasted, was very light and the brush has so many bristles that it catches all of her little lashes. Not to mention she told me I could use a coupon for a dollar off, so obviously I took the bait.

So I took the mascara home (the waterproof one- I always go waterproof) after paying about $7, and I’ve been very impressed. The bristles really do catch all of my tiny lashes, especially on the bottom, and it rarely clumps (the CoverGirl does sometimes). And the best part… is that it doesn’t smear. Its a miracle! I think I found my new go-to mascara. I’ll probably go back to that Walgreens again and see if the same lady has an opinion on eyeshadow…

I was given a set of 10 Mally Evercolor Automatic waterproof eyeliners via Vogue Influencer, and I’ve tried them over the past month. I’ve heard good things about Mally for a while, but I just haven’t tried their products. Turns out, their eyeliners are pretty good.

The liners are very smooth and creamy, and I really like the colors. However, some of the lighter shades- like the silvers and gold- don’t show up very well so I have to draw a line several times. The darker shades are fantastic (I’m partial to the navy). Overall, yes they are waterproof and they do stay on pretty well, however after an 8-hour day at work, I’ve noticed that I have to reapply because the line has completely faded.  But that is the story with most makeup. Individually, these liners run about $12 each.

I’ve also tried out Stilla‘s waterproof smudge stick. Oh wow, I’m in love. It goes on super smooth, does not smudge and lasted a full, busy day without fading or smearing.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think because the Stilla brand is much smoother than the Mally that I seem to go through it a lot faster. But this $20 tube, in my opinion, is worth it if you want to make sure your eyes stay perfect during a long, busy day.

The newest sensation is Versace for H&M, which will be in stores starting Nov. 19 (this Saturday!!). It’s has gotten rave reviews since it’s runway show, and has even been sold already on eBay for astoundingly high prices and a Chinese online retailer.

The collection screams Donatella, with bold prints, vibrant colors, intricate details and several fabric options on the clothes, shoes and accessories (view the collection here). There’s talk that people are scared it will turn into another Missoni for Target disaster, where everything was sold out both online and in stores within a few hours, and people were sent gift cards instead of clothing for their online purchases.

And how this morning, there are rumors that Tom Ford might make a collection for H&M in the future! In the words of Rachel Zoe- I die. Could it get any better? I hardly think so.

My redness has definitely reduced, and normally I break out in spots around my time of the month, but this time I didn’t. That could be a coincidence, but I think not. My face has never been this consistently clean and polished.

What I’ve also done is experiment with my own couple of face cleansers instead of always using the cleansers that came with the Clarisonic, and that also works really well (and it’s cheaper than buying their cleansers all the time).

I think overall, the Clarisonic brush is absolutely amazing. I’m going to keep using this thing for a long, long time. Yes, this thing is an investment, I won’t lie to you on that, but it really makes a difference in your skin. I think that with continuous use, it will only further improve my pores, redness and overall complexion.

So far I’m really liking it! The bumps on my forehead are shrinking, and I think my red patches on my cheeks are starting to diminish. I wake up actually wanting to wash my face so that I can experience that smooth feeling instead of my morning sheen. I really can feel a difference in my skin after I use it.

Everyone I know who has seen the Clarisonic has been jealous and wants to try it. I like having a treat that everyone wants

As I mentioned in my last post, I graduated on August 5th (huzzah), then I had relatives in town for a few days, then I moved to outside Atlanta for my first big-girl job as a copy editor for two newspapers! This past weekend was my first weekend in my new city and it was pretty awesome. Now that things are starting to settle down- and that my internet is fully operational- I think I’ll have more time to blog on a regular basis.

A few days ago, Lady Gaga herself was dressed head to toe in houndstooth! This popular pattern may not have much significance to the singer, but to those who live in the South and especially those who went/go to the University of Alabama, this is black and white pattern is very special to us. Bear Bryant, anyone?

Mother Monster wore everything houndstooth, including her shoes and sheer tights with the pattern running down the side of her leg. I love it. It’s Gaga gone classic! This photo was taken as she walked into the studio for her appearance on The View.

Sidenote- This weekend I was actually at the beach and got a little sunburnt on my forehead, so when it started to peel, the Clarisonic was a big help in getting rid of excess flakes.
